Meeting him today, you may not assume that after college, Dana’s career path pointed toward medical school. An unexpected opportunity changed that direction when he was recruited to coach the men’s basketball program at North Dakota State University. He spent seven years building athletes, shaping teams, and refining his instinct for helping people perform at their best. As his young family grew, Dana realized the demands of coaching were not consistent with the presence he wanted at home, and it was time for a new direction.

He was drawn to financial services for the same reason he thrived as a coach: the chance to motivate, educate, and support people as they work toward meaningful goals. After completing his training and earning the required industry registrations, he began his career at Lutheran Brotherhood working directly with clients.

It quickly became clear to Dana that individuals and business owners needed more than explanations of financial products. They needed a partner who could help them connect the dots, see the broader picture, and understand how each decision supports the life they want to build. That realization led him to establish his own practice in Rochester in 2002, where he focused on holistic, relationship-driven planning.

Dana is also one of the founding members of Full Circle Financial in its current form as a holistic financial planning organization. He was the first advisor to sign on with founder Szablis Klee, and has played an important role in recruiting like-minded individuals, and shaping the culture, standards, and client-focused philosophy that define the firm today.

What continues to energize him is simple: the privilege of walking alongside clients through every season, steadying the tough moments, celebrating meaningful wins, and providing clarity where it matters most. This career has also provided the flexibility for him to stay present and engaged with the people who matter most at home.

Dana and his wife, Koni, enjoy a grounded and active family life in Rochester, Minnesota, where they have raised their four children.
