Benjamin “Ben” Trenary believes financial knowledge should be easier to understand, easier to use, and easier to pass on.
That belief began early. While working as a high school and later college intern with Full Circle Financial, Ben found himself learning practical concepts many people are never formally taught: budgeting, debt, credit, financial organization, and the basic decisions that shape a person’s financial life long before investment or retirement planning begins.
After graduating college, Ben saw how easy it was for even motivated students to feel underprepared for the financial realities ahead. Though they had attained degrees, they had no clear framework for where to begin.
Having earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Planning and Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota - Duluth, completing his series 7 and 66 securities exams, and continuing his formal apprenticeship, Ben brings that perspective into his work as an Associate Financial Planner. His goal is to make financial planning knowledge clearer and more practical, so clients can use it not only in their own lives, but in the conversations they have with the people they care about.

Where They Are
Ben believes financial knowledge should not be reserved for people who already know how to ask the right questions.
That belief started early. As a high school intern with Full Circle Financial, Ben spent afternoons and summers learning business and advisory skills from our team of financial planners. He was introduced to concepts many people are expected to manage without much formal education: budgeting, debt, credit, saving, investing, financial organization, and the decisions that shape early adulthood.
Preparing for college made that reality personal. Even with experience inside a financial firm, Ben saw how easy it was to feel underprepared for the financial decisions ahead. After college, that perspective grew stronger as he watched peers navigate apartments, monthly budgets, student loans, workplace benefits, and early career choices without a clear framework for where to begin.
Ben built his career around closing that gap. At the University of Minnesota Duluth, he simultaneously earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Planning and Master of Business Administration, combining technical planning education with a broader understanding of business, economics, and the forces that affect everyday investors. After college, he continued apprenticing under Full Circle’s principal advisor while preparing for and completing his securities exams.
Today, Ben brings that foundation into his work as a associate financial planner. His goal is to make financial planning knowledge clearer, more practical, and easier to apply, helping clients understand not only what decisions are in front of them, but why those decisions matter.
That understanding has a ripple effect. When one person becomes more informed, they are often better equipped to have meaningful conversations with their spouse, children, parents, friends, coworkers, and community. For Ben, that is part of the purpose of good financial planning: helping clients turn knowledge into confidence, and confidence into Smart Decisions.
