Michael J. Matuska, CHFC®
Personal Financial Advisor
A Mankato native, I have been married to my wife, Cindy for over 32 years, and thanks in most part to her, we have raised 4 great adult children. A life-long Catholic, I center my life around my vocation of helping others and “hanging out” with my wife, kids, and extended family. I am passionate about MSU-Mankato Football, which gives me the opportunity to be with my dad, who is also a long-time fan. I spend my other free-time skiing in the winter, hitting the little white ball around in the summer, reading, and working on projects around the house. I seem to have a never ending “to do” list, and my guess is most of you can relate.
I have been in the personal financial field for over 16 years starting and still with Catholic United Financial as their representative in the Mankato/New Ulm area. My Motto from the get-go has been “if I take care of my clients, they’ll take care of me.” And guess what? It works. I have been blessed to help hundreds of Catholics, and even some non-Catholics protect and provide for their families, and plan for their futures. On the credential side, I have a life insurance license, a series 7 and 66 registration, and ChFC, LUTCF, and FIC designations.
Lastly, I am committed to continuous learning so I can better assist in getting you where you want to go in life.
Why I do What I do
In 2005, three desires drove me to make a change in my career path. First, my four children were getting to the age that their priorities were in sports and activities, and with my job as a traveling industrial sales professional I was not able to be there to coach, encourage, or really enjoy watching them participate. Secondly, I had a strong desire to incorporate my faith with my career, and I knew to do so would mean a major career change. Finally, I wanted to do something that helped others. Beyond giving someone a product, I wanted to actually provide a service that could make a difference in someone's life.
It was then that I found the beginnings of a career opportunity that would allow me to meet all three of my needs. My journey started as a “Field Representative” (yes, that’s what we were called at the time) with Catholic Aid Association. This gave me the opportunity to incorporate faith into my practice, to begin to help others in a meaningful way, and to be home to see my kids grow up.
In 2015, I got a nudge from a fellow representative that I needed to do more for my clients, and so I decided to become a Financial Advisor. I got my ChFC® (Charter Financial Counselor) degree, along with my Series 7 and Series 66, and joined the Full Circle Financial team of financial advisors. With this addition, I am able to offer a holistic approach to planning, and the benefits of a team of multi-faceted and specialized advisors alongside me, as well as our network of financial, estate planning, tax planning, and insurance professionals. Most importantly, I am now able to more fully help my clients plan and achieve their financial and personal goals.
